Alkimos is Perth’s newest masterplanned community, and the most significant urban development in Western Australia in the past five decades.
Sharing 7.5 kilometres of coastline with the Indian Ocean, Alkimos will be home to the most significant, new regional beach in the Perth metro area. Including a regional town centre, a coastal village, possible marina facilities, substantial public open space and a range of social and community infrastructure, Alkimos sits in the main growth corridor for the Perth metro area for the next 20 years.
Upon completion Alkimos will cover 711 hectares comprising approximately 7,000 homes and be home to over 50,000 people.
Parklands and sporting facilities will be disbursed throughout the community with around 13 per cent dedicated to open space including conservation reserves. Significant pedestrian and cycle routes between the beach, village centre, schools, regional centre and train station.
Range of childcare and kindergarten facilities in the village centre and regional centre will be delivered along with a range of primary and secondary schools – public and private.
There is currently a proposed TAFE Campus in the regional centre and the Edith Cowan University Joondalup Campus is located 25 minutes from Alkimos.
Natural vegetation reserves will link residential areas to the Indian Ocean, regional centre, community facilities and train station.
Public art installations in incidental meeting areas and significant view corridors.
Alkimos will set a new standard for sustainable development with an aspiration for ‘moving towards carbon neutral’.
Approximately 60,000 square metres of retail space will be located in the regional centre with significant commercial and mixed use space nearby.
Alkimos will include four villages, including homes for people and families of all life cycles. Diversity in purchasing choice will be offered including land, home and land, finished homes and affordable housing.
Display Villages demonstrating the latest in sustainable home design for all life stages.
Alkimos is being developed in partnership with Western Australia’s State Government land development agency LandCorp.
