Lend Lease has a long and reputable history in investment management, and is committed to creating value for our investors.
As of June 2011, our investment management team managed approximately A$10.7 billion in property assets across unlisted funds, joint ventures and separate mandates in Asia, Australia and Europe. This strong investment management capability complements our many construction and development achievements across the world.
We invest on behalf of institutional investors including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, investment managers and insurance companies, giving our investment partners access to quality property assets across the risk/return spectrum.
We can also access Lend Lease’s in-house development, asset and property management, research, capital transactions, project management and construction skills. These end-to-end capabilities help us provide the property investment opportunities that meet our client’s needs.
In Australia, our wholesale property trust APPF Retail was established in 1989. Today it comprises A$3.8 billion worth of retail assets and is one of Australia’s leading wholesale funds. The APPF Retail portfolio comprises interests in 15 shopping centres, with approximately 2,880 tenants.
In December 2010, Lend Lease in the UK created an infrastructure partnership with PGGM, one of Europe’s largest funds, of £220 million to invest in availability-based, public sector backed revenues, providing long term, inflation linked returns. The assets include schools, hospitals, government accommodation and waste management centres built and managed by Lend Lease.
