Diversity and Inclusion Governance

Lend Lease Diversity and Inclusion Policy

Lend Lease operates in Australia, Asia, Americas and Europe. Each of these regions has its own ‘diversity council’ which is chaired by a Regional CEO or Senior business leader and a Diversity Manager. Diversity councils are steering committees to facilitate a diverse, collaborative and inclusive culture. They also increase diversity and inclusion related discussions and provide a means to achieve best practice policies.

The diversity councils also oversee the activities of the regionally based employee resource groups, which represent and engage with employees on diversity and inclusion related areas including:

  • Age and intergenerational diversity
  • All abilities groups
  • Cultural diversity
  • Indigenous groups
  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex groups
  • Women in the workplace
  • Workplace flexibility

Reporting on our Diversity and Inclusion performance

The Lend Lease Board reports on Lend Lease’s diversity performance in accordance with the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations which see an enhanced focus on gender diversity.

Lend Lease has established measurable objectives in relation to gender diversity. The proportion of women employees across the organisation, women in senior executive positions and women on the Board will be disclosed in the Group’s 2011 annual report.

Raising awareness of gender diversity helps us put all diversity issues on the agenda.  Research shows increased gender diversity is associated a number of benefits including better financial performance, improved employee engagement and culture.  All of these factors help to attract and retain the best people.
