Nurturing arts and culture around the world
We’ve built, redeveloped and refurbished vibrant performing arts and cultural facilities around the world. In Australia, we’ve delivered landmark cultural facilities such as the Melbourne Recital Theatre and the award-winning Millennium Arts at the Queensland Cultural Centre. Across the Americas, we’ve delivered national museums like the American Museum of Natural History and refurbished historic cultural venues such as the historic Palacio de Bellas Artes building in Mexico City.
In Asia, we were responsible for the Australian Pavilion Project, which won the ‘EXPO Civilised site’ safety award at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. In the UK, we’ve worked on heritage and milestone buildings from the Tate Gallery to the Curve at Leicester, and provide a range of consulting services to the arts and culture sector. In Spain, we were behind the award-winning Contemporary Art Museum of Castilla y León. In Russia, our cultural projects include the Dance Palace, home to the prestigious Eifman Ballet, in St Petersburg.
Across the world, our high-profile projects showcase our commitment to delivering cutting-edge design and architecture. They also demonstrate our strong understanding of the construction challenges unique to this sector, such as the need for acoustic-friendly facilities. We combine a wealth of global expertise with best practice project management and a strong understanding of local markets. We work in partnership with our clients and other creative professionals to deliver sophisticated cultural spaces that everyone can enjoy.

Lend Lease has completed approximately 52 projects with the American Museum of Natural History since the business relationship began in 1987. These projects include the award-winning 77th Street Façade Restoration, completed in 2009.
The program primarily involved restoration work on the masonry, porte-cochere, monumental stairs, windows and roof interface areas. The project also involved hazardous materials abatement of all affected window elements and associated surrounding areas at the interiors, planting, façade lighting, as well as ground floor areaways. We restored the historic façade, preserving the grandeur of the original structure. Learn more

Home to the Melbourne Theatre Company and Australian Chamber Music, the Melbourne Recital Centre is a state-of-the-art performance and recording facility. Its bold and dynamic design reflects the culture and vision of the company. It comprises two magnificent performance spaces, the 1,000 seat Elisabeth Murdoch Hall and an intimate 150 seat salon. A major challenge was developing the acoustics of the building, which is now considered among the world's great concert venues for its uncompromised acoustic solution.
