Lend Lease has a long track record of delivering successful government projects in Australia, the Americas, the UK and Europe. In the US, we’ve partnered with the Department of Defense to develop and manage a vast portfolio of military housing communities. While in Canada, we’re pursuing exciting public partnership opportunities across healthcare, justice and education and urban regeneration. In Australia, our diverse government projects include the Australian Taxation Office building in Canberra, education developments and major healthcare projects such as the Gold Coast University Hospital. In the UK, we’ve partnered with government to deliver education, healthcare and waste management infrastructure. We’ve also consulted on a huge range of government projects. In Spain our many government projects include the country’s first Private Finance Initiative (PFI) hospital. In each country, our unique understanding of public policy processes has allowed us to foster long-term partnerships with government bodies. The new Australian Taxation Office headquarters puts Lend Lease at the forefront of development in the ACT. Throughout the design and construction process, we demonstrated our commitment to sustainability. By using environmentally friendly mechanical systems and recycled water to reduce the environmental impact of construction, the project achieved a 4.5 star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) and a 4 star Green Star Rating. This $15 million project provides expanded courtroom space, secure prisoner access and waiting areas, secure judge, employee and jury access, secure storage and attorney-client conference space. The courthouse was originally built circa 1930 and is an historic landmark. As such, all renovation and expansion work is compliant with the New York State Historic Preservation Office guidelines. Lend Lease won the concession contract for the financing, design development, construction and hard and soft facilities management for this new build replacement hospital, Spain’s first PFI healthcare project. The project features annexed services across 12 modular buildings, as well as four-storey parking, a heliport, large capacity auditorium, teaching and research facilities, a two-floor cafeteria and a retail area. It’s innovative, contemporary modular design optimises patient flow and allows for the hospital’s future expansion. Learn more
We provided program and project management services for this £750 million assignment. One of the first large-scale national ‘fast-track’ roll-out programs in the public sector, it redesigned, rebranded and refurbished around 1,000 former Jobcentre and Social Security offices across the UK. These individual projects ranged in value from £50,000 to more than £2 million. Lend Lease overcame complex logistics to deliver 868 customer-facing offices, 23 contact centres and 77 benefit centres.
