Lend Lease has extensive expertise in delivering hospitals and other healthcare projects in Australia, Asia, the Americas and Europe. In Australia, our project management and construction business has been responsible for $3 billion worth of projects including two of the country’s largest hospitals. In Asia, our state-of-the-art projects include the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital in Malaysia.
In the USA we’ve completed $6 billion worth of work, including more than 340 private hospitals and a number of state-owned hospitals. Our acquisition of the healthcare real estate company DASCO has also led to the creation of one of the USA’s most integrated healthcare real estate platforms. Lend Lease DASCO provides innovative development, acquisition, property management and leasing programs for some of the country’s leading hospitals, health care systems and physicians.
And in the UK, we’ve secured, developed and operated eight major Private Finance Initiative (PFI) hospitals and provide ongoing facilities management for five of these. We’ve also constructed major hospitals in Italy and Spain, and continue to bid for further healthcare opportunities.
Our capabilities in the healthcare sector include design, project management, finance, operation, as well as consultancy. We have the unique expertise needed for complex hospital construction and are committed to creating the best user-centred healthcare facilities for patients, staff and visitors alike.
Lend Lease is partnering with Queensland Health to deliver this new, 750 bed $1.76 billion hospital, due to open at the end of 2012. Located next to the Griffith University Gold Coast Campus, the development is one of Australia’s largest health infrastructure projects. Learn more
Lend Lease provided construction management services for the “Women’s Hospital” Bed Tower - a new oval shaped building with nine-stories plus one basement level. The first floor features the main entrance and lobby, which includes a mediation room with reflecting pool and retail space, while the upper floors are able to accommodate 166 private patient rooms. We were contracted to provide full Public Finance Initiative services for the £420 million redevelopment of Central Manchester Hospitals. One of Britain’s largest PFI healthcare schemes, the project involved the replacement of three existing hospitals, the creation of Europe’s largest children’s hospital and a new mental health unit.
