Partnerships

We recognise that our success depends on the strength of our partnerships.
Beyond our partnerships with our employees and their families, our key partnerships include those with our shareholders; the communities in which we operate; and the industry and including our clients, joint venture partners and suppliers.
Our approach to our partnerships is guided by the core Lend Lease values of Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration and Excellence. These values are included in the role description for every Lend Lease employee.
A facilitated stakeholder engagement process was conducted to develop and review the Group 2006/2007 Sustainability Strategy, and our Sustainability Aspirations include a range of goals which will deliver improved social and economic outcomes for our partners, including:
Shareholders
We recognise the importance of maintaining investor confidence through full and timely disclosure to our shareholders and the market of relevant and accurate information about our activities, in line with our External Communications and Continuous Disclosure Policy, which sets out the protocols applicable to Directors, executive officers and employees.
Further information on this can be found in the 2007 Annual Report, within the External Communications and Continuous Disclosure Policy and within the Corporate Governance section of the Lend lease website, www.lendlease.com
Lend Lease Corporation also has a formal feedback and enquiry handling procedure, which is managed by the Investor Relations team through the Corporation website, the Annual General Meeting and ad hoc calls and correspondence.
Finally, we engage with shareholders through our reporting to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Carbon Disclosure Project, as well as a number of other reporting frameworks.
Communities
Most of Lend Lease's businesses have a stakeholder and customer complaints handling charter as part of their consumer-facing community development activity. In Delfin Lend Lease (Australia) and Crosby Lend Lease (UK), this is managed by Community Development teams; in most Bovis Lend Lease projects, it is part of the community and stakeholder engagement process required by client contractual arrangements.
Within Australia, Lend Lease's businesses have developed a 'first of its kind' Sustainability Alliance with Government Stakeholders, aimed at increasing knowledge sharing, community education, stakeholder consultation and corporate social responsibility.
Lend Lease also seeks to make a difference through engagement with the broader community. An example of this is our work with WWF to support the international growth of the Earth Hour initiative. In 2008, more than 140 tenancies, project sites and assets across 16 countries switched off all non-essential lighting to raise awareness about the effects of climate change. The initiative provided an opportunity for Lend Lease to engage key stakeholders and raise awareness about the effects of climate change.
Industry
We are active in engaging with industry stakeholders, particularly through our support of Green Building Councils and other industry organisations and events. These events provide unique opportunities to engage with key stakeholders and communicate Lend Lease advocacy positions.
Recent events include:
Lend Lease is also a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and references its publication as a model for effective stakeholder engagement.
