COMMUNITIES

Lendlease, one of the nation’s leaders in military community development, is overseeing one of the largest overall Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) portfolios and holds the largest share of privatized housing contracts with the US Army. Lendlease has built a strong reputation for its sound business practices. As a fully integrated property solutions provider, Lendlease’s goal is to surpass expected financial outcomes for all stakeholders and add further long-term value by creating developments that will continue operations for a minimum of 50 years. 

Lendlease has created fully master planned, sustainable, mixed-use communities throughout the United States with over 41,000 residential units and 192 apartments.  Projects to note include one of the United States' largest solar powered communities at Island Palm Communities (Hawaii); the first Zero Energy Home on a military installation at Campbell Crossing (Kentucky), the nation’s largest solar thermal project (Atlantic Marine Corps Communities); and the largest LEED-Silver certified community in the state of Texas (Fort Hood). Lendlease has financed, developed, built, renovated and will operate these sites for at least 50 years.

Lendlease became the first developer to begin operations under the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) in August 2009 when it assumed ownership of more than 3,200 hotel rooms located across 10 US Army installations with its operations partner, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group). In 2010, the Army selected Lendlease to implement the second phase of the program to renovate, develop, operate, and sustain hotels at an additional 11 installations, bringing the total portfolio to approximately 7,700 hotel rooms on 21 military installations. In April 2013, Lendlease closed the third phase of the program. Today, Lendlease’s privatized hotel portfolio includes approximately 12,492 hotel rooms on 41 military installations throughout the US.

Lendlease’s healthcare development business unit delivers fully-integrated development services to healthcare clients nationwide with the demonstrated flexibility to meet our clients' unique requirements. For 30 years we have partnered with healthcare providers to plan and implement on-campus and off-campus growth strategies. Our key services include development, capital funding, ownership structuring, project & construction management, leasing and property management.

Lendlease has a proven track record of successful healthcare development project execution with a best-in-class team that has delivered more than $17 billion of healthcare facilities nationwide. This includes the development of 71 projects totaling 4.5 million square feet and the acquisition; of 30 projects totaling 1.5 million square feet. As a national developer of healthcare, our experience is broad based, and includes the delivery of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Cancer Care Facilities, Medical Office Buildings, Imaging and Diagnostic Centers, Free-Standing Emergency Departments, and Specialty Hospitals.

Our key healthcare development projects include: The Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Center in Kernersville, North Carolina; Bon Secours DePaul Medical Plaza in Norfolk, Virginia; and Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Centre in Midlothian, Virginia.
