Our specialist teams across the globe are creating landmark cultural venues, such as the September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York, and showcase residential, retail and commercial projects, such as the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia. We built the infrastructure for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and are responsible for the Athletes’ Village for London 2012. We were also behind some of the biggest healthcare and educational projects in Asia, the US, UK and Australia. We continue to deliver ambitious projects in these countries, often in partnership with governments.

Case Studies


Gold Coast University Hospital, Gold Coast, Australia

Lend Lease partnered with Queensland Health to deliver the Gold Coast University Hospital, one of Australia’s largest health infrastructure projects. The $1.8 billion hospital provides 750 beds and new and expanded services across the areas of cancer radiotherapy, neurosciences, neonatal intensive care, trauma response services and cardiac surgery.  It’s also a tertiary hospital with on-site research and teaching facilities for medical, nursing and allied health students. We drew on our global experience to meet this technically-specialised brief. We also implemented innovative safety initiatives and sustainable features such as water harvesting tanks, energy efficient lighting, waste minimisation and a rigorous recycling program.

ANZ Centre, Melbourne, Australia

Lend Lease was responsible for the development management, project management and design and construction of this $512 million development, Australia’s largest single tenanted commercial building. It’s tailored to meet ANZ’s specific needs and aspirations while accommodating over 6,500 people. Inspired by the riverside setting and the maritime character intrinsic to Docklands, the ten storey building features fluid forms and a dynamic central atrium. Designed to embrace the external environment and the community, the high atriums allow maximum light penetration, and amenities such as promenades, a ferry wharf and space for eateries provide interaction and integration with the neighbouring community.


National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Centre, New York, USA

Lend Lease is providing construction management services for the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center. One of the first companies to bid for the project in 2001, we were honoured to be chosen to construct this sombre and momentous national landmark.

7-Eleven, Various Locations, USA and Canada

Lend Lease was selected by 7-Eleven, Inc. to be the service provider of construction services of their new construction portfolio across the United States and Canada.  Multi-site construction service responsibilities were assumed in the beginning of 2011 as part of a three-year agreement.


Jem, Singapore

Lend Lease delivered a prime suburban shopping mall and commercial tower in Singapore’s Jurong Gateway precinct, the biggest commercial hub outside the city centre. With a total capacity of 108,000 square metres, the unique lakeside development has a vibrant mix of office, retail, entertainment, food and beverage and other complementary uses. Our project management and construction services are just one part of an end‑to‑end suite of property solutions we provide for this project.

Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Lend Lease was project manager for the development of the 88-storey twin towers, located in the heart of the Golden Triangle at Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The towers were the world’s tallest buildings when they were completed in 1996.  The first phase of the construction included the twin office towers totalling 287,000 square metre and a 58,420 square metre retail zone. The 40 hectare site also incorporates an arts centre and 2.7 hectare of public parks, gardens and lakes. Acclaimed international architect Cesar Pelli designed the towers, incorporating Islamic-style geometric patterns.


The Treasury, London, UK

Lend Lease completed two phases of redevelopment at HM Treasury, a hub of government decision making in London’s heart. The project was part of a 37 year concession agreement granted to Exchequer Partnership (a Lend Lease/Stanhope joint venture). In its first phase over 12.5 kilometre walls were removed and over 2,100 windows made bomb proof as major structural interventions were made. In the second phase, the century-old offices were fitted-out to accommodate up to 3,000 civil servants from 1,500 prior to the project. The refurbished building sets new environmental standards in Whitehall through improved natural ventilation.  Heating, lighting, IT and communication systems, over 800 kilometres of data cabling and 80 kilometres of electrical circuits, have been similarly modernised. The completed building combines a sense of history with a reinvigorated and contemporary working environment.

Birmingham Building Schools for the Future, Birmingham, UK

Lend Lease delivered 20 school projects as part of Birmingham Building Schools for the Future (BSF) - the UK’s largest single educational capital investment program. To meet this complex brief, our construction management professionals worked with experienced design and build consultants and technology specialists. Social, economic and environmental sustainability was a high-priority across all these projects, and as a result our work won high environmental ratings and a 2010 Community Award. We worked closely with our clients to overcome a range of challenges, including century-old buildings and government funding cuts.

Puerta de Hierro Hospital, Madrid, Spain

Lend Lease was one of the partners in the concession company chosen to deliver this €226 million, new teaching hospital. We provided construction and project management services, amongst others. The completed hospital accommodates services across 12 modular buildings of four-storey maximum height. Its features include a heliport, large capacity auditorium, teaching and research facilities and a two-floor cafeteria and retail area. The innovative modular design optimises patient flow and allows for future expansion of the hospital without compromising already built modules.
