Lendlease head of Asia Tony Lombardo says he had no experience working in the industry, bar personal property investment when the company hired him to head up strategy more than 10 years ago.
Like the company's chief executive, Steve McCann, Lombardo had a financial services background, which was a contrast to the engineers who often rise through the ranks to lead big construction companies.
