We welcomed the UK Government’s Build, Build, Build reforms and believe the built environment sector will have a vital role to play in skilling and attracting new talent to build the best places that are fit for the future. The social, economic and well-being benefits of well-paid employment are widely recognised, and this is an integral element of Lendlease’s approach to sustainable development.
To achieve the accreditation, we had to put in place several measures, including:
- Engaging all aspects of the business on development of the new Living Wage policy.
- Identifying elements of the supply chain that would be directly impacted and establish a process through which they would migrate to paying the Living Wage.
- Integrating Living Wage compliance into existing quality and assurance systems, processes and procedures.
We believe our Living Wage policy will help demonstrate our unwavering commitment to our people and the communities we work in.
Scott-James Eley, Head of Social Impact for Lendlease Europe said: “Our accreditation enhances our reputation as a socially responsible employer. This will help us recruit and retain the best people and differentiate Lendlease from its peers whilst delivering greater social value for our communities”.
