100 Green star buildings…and counting
We’re proud to have secured 100 Green Star certifications on buildings we’ve delivered for our clients. As green building pioneers, reaching this milestone has prompted us to ask: So what does the next 100 look like?
We’re already well on our way to answering that question. Our engineered timber building at Barangaroo – International House – rounded out our first Green Star century late last year. Soon after, our apartment building at 888 Collins Street, in Melbourne’s Victoria Harbour, received its certification. That takes our Green Star tally to 101… with 102 just around corner. Our showcase projects
Library at the Dock
As the first 6 Star Green Star public building and the first to be constructed of CLT (Cross Laminated Timber), The Library at the Dock is testament to what can be achieved by pushing the boundaries of modern sustainable design. Paying homage to Dockland’s rich maritime heritage with reclaimed hardwood from the waterfront, the Library offers much more to its visitors than just borrows and returns.
30 The Bond
Australia’s first 5 Star Green Star Office As Built Rating, 30 The Bond was a ground breaking commercial development, demonstrating what can be achieved through design innovation and leading environmental performance. It achieved this rating by using chilled beams, wintergarden rooms and automatically controlled external shades to keep the heat out. It also contains low VOC carpets and paints, a roof garden with native plants and timber decking from sustainable sources.
The Gauge
The first building in Australia to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Office As Built Rating and home to Lendlease’s Melbourne headquarters, The Gauge demonstrated that a commercial building with the highest environmental accreditations could be delivered at a competitive commercial rate.
ANZ Melbourne
The 83,796 square metre office achieved 6 Star Green Star – Office Interiors v1.1 certification in July 2012, making it the largest single-tenanted 6 Star Green Star rated office fitout in the country, and only the second building in Australia to have achieved the 6 Star Green Star certification ‘trifecta’ of Design, As Built and Interiors ratings.
Kingsgate
Lendlease’s Brisbane headquarters, Kingsgate achieved a 6 Star Green Star - Office Design v3 building and 6 Star Green Star - Interiors Pilot rating. With a focus on smart design and construction methods, future-thinking sustainability initiatives are incorporated throughout the Kingsgate design. The façade regulates the internal temperature using a unique sun-shading system.
Darling Quarter
Darling Quarter is a mixed use redevelopment that set a benchmark for green precincts in Australia. Features include a world class 4,000m2 playground; retail and dining; a new public park and Commonwealth Bank Place, which received a 6 Star Green Star v2 Office Design certified rating after achieving 84 credit points – the highest score for a building of its size. The building saves 2,500 tonnes of carbon emissions per year and reduces main water consumption by 92 per cent.
