This will involve our employees from around the world working with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, and engaging with local indigenous communities, in on-ground conservation.

Lendlease Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Steve McCann said, “The Great Barrier Reef is universally recognised as one of our planet’s greatest natural wonders. Its protection and preservation requires collaboration between government and the private sector, and we’re ready to contribute our skills and resources to assist.”

Through our work in the built environment, Lendlease aims to generate a positive social legacy by creating jobs, building skills and supporting local and marginalised communities while also achieving environmental outcomes. This new partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation is a natural extension of our long-held philosophy of leaving something positive behind for future generations.

For more than 60 years we have strived to create places that generate better economic, social and environmental outcomes for everyone.  As we look to the future, our landscapes are ever-changing and we will continue to do what we’ve always done – play our role in helping to create the best places.

“Companies must start justifying their worth to society, with greater emphasis placed on environmental and social impact rather than straight economics.”

Dick Dusseldorp,
Founder of Lendlease, 1973.
