Lendlease and Save the Children: a partnership for good
At Lendlease, we believe that workplaces should do more than support business needs; they should create lasting positive change. Our partnership with Save the Children Australia is a reflection of that philosophy, providing the not-for-profit with dynamic new office space at Brights and Park. By coming together in this shared space, we’re unlocking greater opportunities for collaboration, impact, and community connection.
Save the Children is now calling Brights and Park home, a move that’s already making waves in how their team collaborates, connects, and creates impact with and for children. The not-for-profit’s decision to shift from a standalone building to a shared, community-driven workspace was driven by a desire for a better designed workplace that enabled more cross-functional collaboration and team connection and improved environmental credentials.
“We wanted somewhere our people would feel excited to come into every day, and somewhere that reflects our ethos as a community service organisation,” says Mel Parks, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer at Save the Children. “Having a presence at Brights and Park, alongside like-minded organisations, means we’re not just sharing a space––we’re sharing ideas and energy.”
This new environment is more than just a change of scenery. It’s a catalyst for connection. Surrounded by other innovative organisations, Save the Children’s team is experiencing new levels of collaboration and engagement. Now, they’re co-creating solutions in a space that’s as dynamic as the work they do.
At the heart of this partnership is Brights and Park itself—a vibrant, purpose-driven precinct designed to foster productivity, wellness, and sustainability. Comprised of two A-grade office buildings connected via a dynamic laneway, Brights and Park offers a thoughtfully curated blend of features. Staff can recharge in the dedicated wellness spaces, take inspiration from lush gardens and biophilic design, or enjoy the immersive art experiences that enliven the precinct. A shared business lounge creates opportunities for networking, while the overall design delivers an environment that seamlessly supports both professional and personal wellbeing.
Save the Children’s work extends far beyond the walls of their new head office. As the world’s leading children’s rights organisation, they operate both domestically and internationally to protect, support, and empower children. In Australia, they’re the largest provider of domestic violence refuge services in Queensland, offering safe spaces where women and children can rebuild their lives. Their work also includes youth bail support services, helping young people navigate the justice system with guidance and care. Internationally, they’re at the forefront of emergency relief efforts, climate adaptation programs, and education initiatives in places like Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands.
“What’s been really special is how being in this space has allowed us to showcase our work to others,” says Mel. “We’re able to connect with people from other organisations in the building, share our story, and even find new supporters for our cause.”
With almost 1,000 people working across Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands, Save the Children’s reach is extensive.
As Mel explains, their approach to making a difference is deeply local. “Every community’s needs are different, so our programs are tailored to each place we work. In Australia, for instance, we’re the largest provider of domestic violence refuge services in Queensland, offering safe spaces for women and children to rebuild their lives,” she says.
By joining the Brights and Park community, Save the Children’s team can work more efficiently, collaborate more effectively, and, most importantly, amplify their impact on the ground. This is a tangible reminder of what can be achieved when people and places work together for good.
“This partnership with Lendlease is a chance for us to deepen our impact,” says Mel. “It’s not just about space; it’s about what we can achieve with it.”
Together, Lendlease and Save the Children are proving that when spaces are designed with purpose, they can become places for profound change. It’s a partnership that’s already showing the power of shared space and shared goals. This is what it means to create workplaces with impact––achieving more, together.
