‘Try A Trade’ expo showcases construction jobs at Tweed Valley Hospital project

  • 07 November 2022
Hundreds of students across Northern New South Wales went behind-the-scenes at Tweed Valley Hospital this month, as part of a local construction careers expo.

A partnership between Lendlease, TAFE NSW and NSW Department of Education, the ‘Try a Trade’ careers expo showcased construction industry jobs and training opportunities to help young people make informed decisions about their careers.

Secondary students from schools across the region including Tweed, Mullumbimby and Woodlawn, were invited to sample a trade while having the opportunity to hear first-hand career advice from apprentices, trainers and construction employers.

This marks the second Try a Trade for Tweed Valley Hospital, with more than 100 students also visiting the project site back in June 2022.

The Tweed Valley Hospital project is being delivered by Lendlease for Health Infrastructure NSW and comprises a new state-of-the-art hospital for the Tweed-Byron region. The new hospital is on track to open to patients in 2023.
