Victoria Cross Tower reaches highest point, revealing one of Sydney’s best office views

  • 11 Apr 2025

Sydney, 11 April 2025: Set to offer some of the most expansive views of Sydney’s skyline, Victoria Cross Tower has reached the construction milestone of ‘topping out’, reaching its highest point at 42-storeys.

Located above the new Sydney Metro Victoria Cross station, the commercial tower stands at the centre of the vibrant new precinct with retail and dining. In total, the $1.2 billion project has clocked up more than 4 million hours of work to-date and supported circa 5,000 on-site jobs through construction of the new metro station, retail and now commercial tower.

With the opening of the metro station last year, the office development is positioned to be one of North Sydney’s most well-connected and sustainable workplaces, benefitting from the new metro’s shortened transit times and providing access to new talent pools for businesses.

It is also generating increased leasing interest in the commercial tower, with NBN Co, Australia’s national wholesale open-access data network provider, signing this year for circa 9,000 square metres across six levels. NBN Co will join essential infrastructure service provider Ventia Australia, who has signed for circa 3,500 square metres across two levels. Health and wellness operator One Playground will also occupy circa 1,800 square metres across four floors of the precinct’s podium building, offering hundreds of fitness and wellness classes weekly from mid-2025 at the workplace’s doorstep.

Interest has also been driven by the building’s high sustainability standards, as it will be net zero carbon and all-electric, able to be powered by 100 per cent renewables. It’s also targeting a Platinum WELL rating, 5.5 Star NABERS energy rating and 6-Star Green Star rating – meeting tenant demand for ways to achieve their own social impact and sustainability targets.

Designed by architecture firm Bates Smart, Victoria Cross Tower will accommodate up to 7,000 workers, spread across more than 55,000 square metres of high-tech, flexible, premium grade office and retail space.

The Victoria Cross precinct features generous public space and a vibrant ground plane with 21 new retail and hospitality brands, 14 of which are now open in the concourse and new pedestrian laneway. The remaining 7 retailers across Miller House and Miller Terraces, will open early next year.

Victoria Cross Tower is targeted to complete later this year.
