Gurrowa Place will deliver an iconic workplace designed for your future needs and an enticing new destination for your people, your customers and your community.

This $1.7billion project at Queen Victoria Market is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of Melbourne’s most exciting next chapter.

  • As at 15 May 2024. Figures in AUD.

  • Gurrowa Place, part of the largest urban renewal projects undertaken by the City of Melbourne, will revitalise the Queen Victoria Market precinct’s 3.2-hectare southern site, bordered by Franklin, Queen and Peel streets, with new commercial, residential, retail, and public open space.

Located within the iconic precinct that combines city convenience and market experiences, this vibrant workplace of the future delivered by Lendlease is placed in Melbourne’s innovation district with close proximity to universities, creative, health and bio-science hubs. Already easily accessible from all parts of Melbourne and beyond and with new infrastructure investment set to create further ease of commute, your business can attract the next generation of talent from across the city including the growing north and west, with a 100/100 public Transit Score and a 97/100 Walk Score.

Rising 28 levels, Gurrowa Place’s A Grade office tower is a workplace that creates a bold presence on the city skyline. Anchored at the southern end of the bustling retail precinct and surrounded by urban greenery, the stepped form of Gurrowa Place’s office tower offers a fresh approach to wellbeing at work thanks to the contemporary design that brings nature within. Adaptable and custom-built workspaces welcome north-facing natural light with uninterrupted views over Flagstaff Gardens and the new Market Square, whilst contiguous floors and range of diverse and flexible floorplates provides versatile workspaces to adapt to the changing needs of business.

Extending the workplace core space are 12 private open air terraces ranging 30m2-598m2. These fully landscaped spaces bring biodiversity to the precinct and support better wellbeing by providing access to sunlight, fresh air and ample space for a wide range of workplace initiatives.

Distinctly Melbourne – alive and authentic, Gurrowa Place’s iconic location will create a dynamic urban hub that embodies contemporary energy while respecting its rich heritage. Opening the door to new ideas and contributing to the expansion of the CBD footprint, Gurrowa Place is a central business destination that offers so much more - more ways to connect and collaborate, more green space and more reasons to come to work.

Wominjeka to Gurrowa Place

Gurrowa Place is on the land of the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge and pay respects to their Elders, past and present. We are committed to ensuring our activities support their ongoing connection to their land, waters, cultures, languages and traditions.

In the language of the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people, ‘Gurrowa’ means a place of exchange and interchange – being reflective of the purpose of the market and the vision of the urban renewal project. It has long been a place to connect and share food, culture and experiences. And now, it will also become a place to inspire businesses for the future.

Lendlease are committed to honouring the site’s heritage, working closely with Wurundjeri Elders on the precinct’s design which draws inspiration from a time before Melbourne. Partnering with NH Architecture, Kerstin Thompson Architects and 3XN Australia in conjunction with Openwork and McGregor Coxall, Gurrowa Place creates a visionary development proposal for this significant site.
