The plan proposes:
An intergenerational precinct with 149 independent living units, 144 bed aged care facility and 29 townhouses. In addition, the area will feature retail outlets, landscaped public open spaces and pedestrian connections.
The proposed development is located within the Studio 9 precinct on Bendigo Street, Richmond 3121.
BENEFITS FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Our aim is to bring generations together and create a development that fits in to the broader Studio 9 precinct in Richmond so that a truly intergenerational community can be delivered. We believe the proposed development will benefit not only our future residents, but also the local community and visitors to the area through adding to the overall amenity by:
- Encouraging seniors to remain in a vibrant part of their local community;
- Providing much-needed retirement facilities including independent living (for downsizers), in-house aged care services, and specialised residential aged care for those with higher care needs;
- Providing seniors of Richmond and surrounding suburbs a place where they can age in place;
- It is estimated that around 200 permanent, local jobs (including skilled medical and allied health roles) will be created as a result of the Aged Care Facility and Retirement Living development;
- Through the creation of new spaces across the site, locals and the public will have new areas to enjoy where they can dine, entertain and enjoy leisure activities.
