Welcome to Place Futures!
We are an independent, people-focused, strategic advisory team, here to partner with you to create your ideal future workplace. We exist to help you achieve your organisational goals by leveraging your workplace as a core aspect of your competitive advantage.
We know that more than ever “work” is beyond the physical workplace, and we use robust, evidence-based data and human centred design approaches to co-create a holistic work and place strategy with your leaders and teams.
We look at things differently, with a deliberate future focus. We’re not afraid to ask the hard questions, or dig into sticky problems. As a global innovator in the property industry, Lendlease has built a reputation for influencing the next generation of sustainable, inclusive and innovative workplace environments.
Partnering with you, we will continue to raise the bar by delivering internationally recognised workplaces that enable people to work more effectively, inspire greater collaboration, instil a sense of community, attract and retain top talent, and make the best use of environmental resources.
These are high performance workplaces.
We believe your workplace can be one of your greatest assets. It is the unspoken declaration of your brand, your culture and your values, and it demonstrates how you invest in your people day-to-day. We know that a place that works helps people focus on the work that really matters.
Evidence indicates workplaces have the power to attract, support and retain top talent.
People are more likely to come to work in high performing workplaces. The workplace can help you enhance your performance and business value.
Culture and brand
Your workplace communicates who your organisation is and what you care about.
It demonstrates your position on your culture, your core values, your people, and your customers. It is a vessel for your culture, your talent and your brand.
The best workplaces are created through deep research, drawing on multiple data sources and through engagement with people at all levels of your organisation.
Your workplace links your people to their purpose, a key component of a happy, healthy lifestyle.
A sense of meaning in the workplace can give us community, connection, and satisfaction.

Many companies are grappling with balancing the advantages of hybrid working and virtual connectivity with the culture-building and social benefits of physical proximity. Our team is focused on creating high performing workplaces which inspire people to come together, provide rapid community building and cultural download, and support connectivity across the physical and virtual. We’ve worked with customers across Asia Pacific, the US, and Europe, in a diverse range of sectors including Banking and Finance, Telecommunications, Technology, Media and Entertainment, Legal, and Retail.
Contemporary universities play a unique role in research and innovation, learning and teaching, and engagement with government, businesses and the community. Our approach recognises and celebrates the fact that university precincts are complex ecosystems of multiple stakeholders with diverse needs and drivers. We’ve done precinct briefing at Macquarie University, developed workplace standards for UNSW, and supported the University of Sydney Business School to pilot new ways of working.
The Healthcare sector requires a highly tailored approach to developing workplace strategies for research teams, labs, and hospital environments. Our team has developed a unique approach which considers the diversity of the workforce and their workstyles, specifics of project parameters, and complexity of stakeholder drivers. We’ve supported the development of the workplace for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network at Randwick and Westmead, Tweed Valley Hospital, Hornsby Kuring-gai Hospital, and Macksville Hospital, as well as several research and laboratory environments including Amgen and the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
The Government sector is wide and varied. Many of Australian’s largest employers fall into both State and Commonwealth Government sectors, with huge variety in the type of work they carry out, and therefore the workplaces they require. Our team includes members with prior government experience, both state and commonwealth, and understand the nuances and tailored requirements and factors for a successful Government workplace. As a team, we have worked with numerous agencies in Canberra and the states and continue to contribute across Lendlease precinct projects with key government tenants.
The not-for-profit sector is full of incredible talent driven by a sense of meaning, purpose, and values. Our approach involves ensuring this important workforce has access to the resources they need to do their jobs while connecting them with organisational purpose and objectives and celebrating successes. We have worked with several not-for-profits including Reconciliation Australia, Aboriginal Housing Victoria, the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and Common Equity Housing Limited to achieve great outcomes even within constrained resources.
We believe in the power of place, so we did it to ourselves! We developed the global workplace strategy for our own people, and continue to evolve and refine how we create the best workplaces locally and around the world. Get in touch to ask us how.
