At the start of June 2021, Elephant Park proudly announced that its brand-new park and magnificent natural playscape, Elephant Springs, is now complete and open to the public. This marked the culmination of many months work by a passionate project team, overcoming many obstacles and challenges put in their way by the pandemic, but who remained dedicated to creating this very special place in the heart of London’s zone one.

Elephant Springs is an urban oasis crafted from water, rock and sand, featuring fountains, waterfalls and slides. It has been created by a team of people who are genuinely passionate about creating a fun and unique place for the local community to enjoy. Elephant Springs has been inspired by this special part of the city and the human need to get close to the natural world, have space to breathe and to have fun.

--> It has long been known that proximity to green space and nature can have a significantly positive impact on mental and physical wellbeing, and this is just one of the reasons Lendlease has gone to great lengths to make Elephant Park such a green and leafy environment to be in, set amongst the many mature London Plane trees that are at the heart of its masterplan.

Lendlease also understands the value of outdoor play, and with Elephant Springs have created an interactive and immersive rocky, watery landscape that beckons all into the world of play and discovery. In this post-Covid world it is more important than ever that people have access to fresh air and the outdoors, and encouraging children of all ages to enjoy spaces outside is just one way to promote a healthy lifestyle for them.

Most importantly, the park and Elephant Springs subscribe to the same ethos that has governed the design of Elephant Park throughout its delivery: that it’s an inclusive space where everyone feels comfortable, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We encourage everyone to stop by if they’re in the area and see for themselves what a special place Elephant Park is.
