- 7 Oct 2024
Lendlease Europe has achieved a remarkable feat by being shortlisted for four prestigious awards: the Social Impact Award from Considerate Constructors Scheme (CSS) and three awards at the 2024 Social Value Portal Awards. These awards recognise the business’ outstanding contributions to social value and their commitment to transforming communities.
The Social Impact Award from CCS acknowledges Lendlease's positive impact on society and the communities in which they operate. The company's initiatives, driven by CCS data and evidenced by partnerships, investments, and employee-led programs, have demonstrated a significant contribution to social well-being.
Lendlease Europe has also been shortlisted for all three categories they entered in the Social Value Portal Awards:
- Excellence in Planning
- Excellence in Real Estate
- Making Core
This recognition is a testament to the exceptional work of their Social Value team and their partners, including the University College London's Institute for Global Prosperity (IGP). The Excellence in Planning award highlights Lendlease's efforts to embed social value into the earliest stages of property development, as exemplified by initiatives like The Good Life Euston and Prosperity in East London.
The Excellence in Real Estate award recognises Lendlease's commitment to integrating social value principles into the design, construction, and occupation of their projects. This includes considerations such as community engagement, local economic impact, and building management practices.
Finally, the Making Core award acknowledges Lendlease's significant cultural and governance shifts to support social value transformation. This includes adapting their ESG strategy, embracing the Social Value Act and overcoming internal challenges to deliver social value.
Lendlease Europe's nomination for these awards is a testament to their exceptional work in social value and their dedication to creating positive change in the communities they serve. Head of Social Impact, Europe – Lucille Watkins-Brazier, commented: "Being shortlisted for four prestigious awards, including the Social Impact Award from CCS and three at the Social Value Portal Awards, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to creating positive change in the communities we serve. This recognition validates our belief that social value is not just a corporate responsibility, but a fundamental driver of our success."
