Celebrating a decade of innovation in Milan
- 29 Apr 2025
MIND Innovation Week returns to Milan from May 5–10, 2025, marking ten years since Expo 2015 and the remarkable transformation of the site into a thriving innovation district.
Organized by Lendlease and Arexpo, and supported by more than 25 partners, the third edition of the festival will feature over 40 events celebrating science, technology, art, culture, and sustainability.
Under the theme "Shapes of Innovation: the Energy of Ideas," MIND Innovation Week 2025 will showcase how ideas are shaping the future. The programme spans a wide range of topics including artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, environmental innovation, gender medicine, cultural heritage conservation with robotics, urban regeneration, and the role of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
The festival will be opened by the Italian Deputy Prime Minister, Matteo Salvini, on May 5, marking the symbolic anniversary of Expo 2015. Highlights on the opening day include a presentation of the MIND Annual Report and an open day showcasing advancements in life sciences by Human Technopole researchers.
Currently hosting 10,000 people daily, MIND continues to expand, with major developments like the Horizon and MoLo buildings expected by 2026. By 2027, the population of the district is projected to exceed 30,000; with a strong focus on youth and education. Recent announcements include the ground breaking of the first student housing and continued progress on the La Statale University Campus.
Throughout the week, innovation will be explored through a variety of lenses. Art and science will intersect at events such as a creative laboratory on street art and the unveiling of RoBee, a humanoid robot designed for industrial applications.
The future of digital health is firmly on the agenda. And urban innovation will be the subject of events discussing new collaborations between technology, creativity and urban development.
A delegation from Opportunity London will also be in attendance, emphasising MIND’s growing role as an international innovation hub. And education is a cornerstone of the festival, with workshops on responsible artificial intelligence, future learning environments, and awards celebrating young people’s visions for sustainable, inclusive cities.
MIND Innovation Week 2025 is made possible thanks to the collaboration of numerous partners, including Human Technopole, Università La Statale di Milano, IRCCS Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio Hospital, Fondazione Triulza, Federated Innovation, AstraZeneca, Bracco, Valore Italia, Regione Lombardia, and the World Economic Forum, among others.
