Looking ahead together - highlights from UKREiiF 2025
- 23 May 2025
UKREiiF 2025 was important for Lendlease. Across the week, we shared progress on major regeneration schemes, announced a new landmark partnership and hosted conversations on the future of placemaking and investment.
Smithfield Birmingham spotlight
To celebrate progress on the Smithfield Birmingham project, we hosted an evening at the West Midlands Growth Company pavilion.
We shared the latest on the project vision – Smithfield will honour its heritage as a historic market district, and the new market will be complemented by new homes, green space, a new public square and places to meet and eat, creating a vibrant destination designed to grow and adapt with the city.
The event featured a spoken word performance by Casey Bailey, who created a bespoke piece inspired by Smithfield’s creativity and bold spirit. The lively atmosphere celebrated this exciting chapter for Birmingham and gave attendees a chance to connect with the project team.
Conversations on stage
Lendlease colleagues also took part in a range of panel discussions throughout the week:
· Misa von Tunzelman, Head of Corporate Affairs and Marketing, spoke about the role of developers, architects and marketers in shaping distinctive places, and how those perspectives can complement each other to create lasting value.
· Angela Brennan, Executive Director of Development Management, joined a Lendlease sponsored session on foreign direct investment, exploring the UK’s position in a shifting global landscape and how it can continue to attract capital into key sectors.
· Selina Mason, Director of Masterplanning and Strategic Design, attended a panel on infrastructure and its role in city transformation, highlighting how good design and clear delivery strategies can unlock long-term benefits.
· Matthew Steenhoek, Executive Director of Development, contributed to a discussion on transport hubs and their potential to support economic growth across regions.
Looking ahead
The conversations at UKREiiF reflected a clear appetite for collaboration between public and private sectors. For Lendlease, it was an opportunity to share how our regeneration work is evolving and to mark a new chapter in our delivery strategy.
Thanks to everyone who joined us in Leeds – we’re looking forward to building on the momentum.
