Perry Barr team win top award for health and safety
- 12 Apr 2022
Our team at the Perry Barr Residential Scheme in Birmingham are celebrating after being awarded the RoSPA Gold Award for demonstrating consistently high health and safety standards.
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.
Matt Statham, EHS Lead, UK Regions, Lendlease, said: “This award is justly deserved because of everything our team does each day to ensure the right values and behaviours from all our stakeholders to leave a lasting legacy. Our client, Birmingham City Council is delighted to receive such excellent news and I am proud to be part of this team.”
Ian MacLeod, Director of Planning, Transport & Sustainability, Birmingham City Council, said: “I am delighted that Lendlease have received this award which reflects their commitment to the highest standard of health and safety. The development is making a significant contribution to the City’s housing need and is also creating new employment and training opportunities for the local community.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved accomplishment. All our award entrants demonstrate their unwavering commitment and passion for keeping people safe at work. By receiving this recognition Lendlease join like-minded businesses and organisations worldwide, who represent the very best in their approach to Health and Safety. I would like to add my personal thanks for all the work that it has taken to secure this well-deserved award – congratulations to all those involved, who champion and drive up Health and Safety standards every day. You are a fantastic example to others in your sector.”
The Perry Barr Residential Scheme will deliver 1,400 much-needed new homes for Birmingham and is part of the wider £700million-plus regeneration of Perry Barr in the north-west of the city, including improved leisure and community facilities along with upgraded transport infrastructure.
Lendlease are the Management Contractor for the Perry Barr Residential Scheme, working with Kier, Willmott Dixon and Vinci UK to deliver the project.
