The certification, granted by the Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces (GCHW), assesses employer programs across a broad range of factors including health and safety, mental wellbeing, commitment from top leadership and the ability of employees to influence its design.
Our Group Head of Sustainability and Safety, Brian Long, said: “There is nothing more important at Lendlease than the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and those who work with us.”
“Achieving this global certification recognises our commitment to taking care of our people through supporting their physical and mental wellbeing.”
“Whilst we have a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, mental health has been a growing area of focus. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training has become a cornerstone of these efforts with over 950 of our employees trained around the world to be competent in mental health first aid,” said Brian.
Lendlease also provides eligible employees with industry leading wellbeing leave which encourages them to take a proactive and preventative approach to their own health. In FY17, 66 per cent of our employees around the world took wellbeing leave.
Lendlease was runner-up in the multi-national employer category at the 5th Global Healthy Workplace Awards announced on 2 September 2017 in Singapore. The Awards were hosted by the Global Centre for Healthy Workplaces (GCHW) with Singapore’s Health Promotion Board of the Ministry of Health, and took place immediately prior to the World Congress on Safety & Health.
