One Sydney Harbour penthouse smashes Australian record

19 Oct 2019

Lendlease’s One Sydney Harbour residential project at Barangaroo South has smashed the Australian record for the nation’s most expensive home, after selling its premier penthouse and accompanying sub-penthouse apartment in ‘one line’ for more than $140 million.

The two storey penthouse also breaks the elusive $100,000 per square metre barrier.

The penthouse has been specifically designed as a single residence, allowing the additional third floor – which forms part of the overall home – to function as a separate residence. The entire holding spans the top three floors of the tallest of One Sydney Harbour’s three luxury residential towers which have been designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect, Renzo Piano.

The total home includes nine-bedrooms, with more than 1,600 square metres of curated living space with eight-metre-high ceilings. It features a private roof-top pool, spa and gymnasium, as well as a significant master bedroom that is bigger than most homes. Lendlease confirms the purchaser is a local buyer planning to call One Sydney Harbour home.

Smashing the Australian residential record by achieving a sale in excess of $140 million is just the beginning. More than $1 billion in sales and commitments have been achieved with the apartments being exclusively offered to VIP customers. The response from local customers has been overwhelming.

One Sydney Harbour is setting a new benchmark in Sydney’s luxury apartment market and is the much-anticipated final piece in Lendlease’s existing award-winning waterfront residential, commercial, restaurant and retail precinct Barangaroo South. Consisting of three towers, One Sydney Harbour has fast become Sydney’s most desirable address to call home.

The One Sydney Harbour development is located in the heart of one of Sydney’s largest and most successful dining precincts, which is already home to 20,000 workers and thousands of visitors every week. The first of three luxury towers is 72 storeys and home to 317 apartments. The tower is set to be 247 meters tall.

With views available north to the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, as well as views west across Darling Harbour and to the Blue Mountains, One Sydney Harbour neighbours Barangaroo’s newest public spaces. Waterman’s Cove is an amphitheatre-style boardwalk on the water and Hickson Park – a one-hectare green link across Barangaroo South.

“Demand for residences throughout the tower has been extremely high, attracting strong local and global interest.
