Gilead Information Centre opens its doors at Macarthur Square

  • 8 May 2018
The centre will be the first public space for the community to discover Gilead, Macarthur’s newest masterplanned residential community to be developed by Lendlease and currently in its early planning stages.

Visitors to the centre will be able to discover the vision for the project and understand the history of the site and Lendlease in Campbelltown.

Lendlease Communities General Manager NSW/ACT, Arthur Ilias, said the centre will be a welcoming place for the community to connect with the Gilead team, interact with displays and learn about the development.

“It’s exciting to open this hub where the community and broader region can see our vision for Gilead, collaborate with us and provide input into the types of amenity and infrastructure that could be included to create a vibrant village lifestyle with parks and open spaces.

“The centre will also provide information about how the development responds to its natural setting and highlights the ecologically protected areas that will be regenerated as part of the development,” said Mr Ilias.

Lendlease has a longstanding history in the Macarthur region, which spans almost 60 years from when it first acquired land at Macquarie Heights, now known as Bradbury, and developed other residential communities like Glen Alpine.

“We are immensely proud of our legacy in the region and commitment to creating the best places,” said Mr Ilias.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, welcomed the opening of the information centre saying Lendlease has played a significant role in the evolution of Campbelltown City for more than 50 years.

“The information centre will provide our growing community with an opportunity to find out more about the Gilead development, and to provide input into the services and facilities needed to create great communities of the future,” he said.

Macarthur Square Acting Centre Manager, Chelsea Milne, said it was fitting that Gilead has a presence in the Lendlease-managed Macarthur Square shopping centre.

“Macarthur Square has been part of the community since 1979, and we’re delighted to welcome Gilead as a tenant to the centre, building on our commitment to supporting the needs of the community and its economic growth,” said Ms Milne.

The public can visit the Gilead Information Centre from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-4pm on weekends. The centre is located on level 3 of Macarthur Square in the newly opened expansion near the Coles and food court area.
