Lendlease Expands Student Housing Development Team, Appoints Aole Ansari to Drive Market Entry
- 7 Jan 2019
Ansari joined Lendlease in 2004 and has held multiple leadership roles across the company’s Americas region. Most recently, Ansari served as Executive General Manager of Lendlease’s Healthcare Development business.
“Aole is a well-respected developer, businessman and leader in Lendlease’s Americas region,” said Claire Johnston, Managing Director of Lendlease’s Communities business. “Aole has proven experience in new market entry, commercial structuring and deal conversion. He is well-positioned to evolve our early work in the student housing sector and take our business to the next level.”
Ansari oversaw Lendlease’s market entry into the San Francisco Bay area in 2014, securing a significant development site in the city. He served as Executive Vice President, overseeing all business development activity for Lendlease’s Public Partnerships business from 2011 to 2014, and from 2007 to 2011, he led Lendlease’s Privatized Army Lodging (PAL) team. In this role, Ansari directed Lendlease’s more than $1 billion privatized lodging portfolio, which includes more than 12,000 hotel rooms on 40 military installations across the country.
“The team has worked diligently to understand how we can support colleges and universities in creating the best places for their students,” Ansari said. “We see a real opportunity to bring our innovative placemaking capabilities to the student housing sector and look forward to forming meaningful partnerships within the market.”
