Lendlease celebrates Randwick Campus Redevelopment contract win
- 11 Aug 2019
At the peak of construction in mid-2020, Lendlease will have approximately 600 construction workers on site. In line with NSW Government commitment the Acute Services Building is on track to open in 2022.
In an added boost for the community, the project will deliver on the NSW Government Priorities to support high quality education and strong local communities through establishing a partnership with TAFE NSW and implementing a skills exchange program alongside supporting the implementation of a Skills Legacy Pilot program. The Skills Legacy Pilot program will provide employment and training for women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, long term unemployed, and apprentices.
Quotes attributed to Dale Connor, Chief Executive Officer Building Australia
“We’re delighted to once again be engaged by the New South Wales Government in the delivery of important health infrastructure for the State.
“In the past decade, we’ve successfully completed more than 50 hospital and health related projects across Australia, with 16 completed in New South Wales. These include projects which have been successfully delivered for NSW Government including the Gosford Hospital Redevelopment. Other projects include Newcastle Mater Hospital Redevelopment, Campbelltown Macarthur Hospital and Macquarie University Private Hospital.
“Construction of the new Acute Services Building will ensure the NSW Government benefits from our proven health and hospitals expertise, which have been developed through successful delivery of the Gosford Hospital Redevelopment, Victoria’s Bendigo Hospital and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Queensland.
“Importantly, we are partnering with NSW Government on a strong commitment to create more jobs in local communities for women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, the long-term unemployed and apprentices as part of the project’s delivery.
“Today’s announcement follows more than 18 months of successful collaboration between Lendlease, NSW Government and other key stakeholders on this important project.”
