- 30 Sep 2019
“Lendlease has made legendary contributions to the skylines of cities and civic architecture across the United States,” said Andrew Council, Managing Director of Construction for Lendlease Americas. “This ranking reflects the consistent skill and passion we bring to our clients’ projects, and we are proud to be consistently recognized for the excellent quality of the work we produce.”
Lendlease has managed the construction of some of the most imposing residential buildings in New York City in recent years, including the 1,550-foot Central Park Tower, slated to be the tallest residential building in the world. The company provided the construction of 53W53, an 82-story luxury condominium tower located between 53rd and 54th Street and Fifth and Sixth Avenues in New York City completed in 2019; One Bennett Park, a 70-story apartment and condominium building and the tallest all-residential tower in Chicago, also completed in 2019; and The Lumina, a four-building mixed-use complex in San Francisco completed in 2017.
The company has also worked on a range of integrated projects, on which Lendlease acts as both developer and construction manager. Recent examples include The Cooper at Southbank, the first of several high-rise buildings in Chicago’s emerging Southbank neighborhood; the Clippership Wharf project in East Boston, which spans four buildings with a mix of 478 units; and 277 Fifth Avenue, a 130-unit condominium building on East 30th Street and Fifth Avenue.
Lendlease has consistently ranked amongst the top builders in the United States across a variety of asset classes. In addition to its leading position in the national rankings, ENR has also ranked Lendlease as the leading residential contractor in New York for 10 consecutive years. The company is also ranked the top multi-family contractor by Building Design + Construction and has held the position since 2011, when the publication launched the category.
The company has also ranked among the Top 10 healthcare contractors in the nation by Modern Healthcare for 29 consecutive years, and in the Top Six in this category since 2010, when ENR New York launched their healthcare construction ranking.
The company’s growing Life Sciences business constructs state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, and in 2020 will complete the innovative Taystee Lab Building, an 11-story, 350,000 square foot life science structure built on the site of the historic Taystee Bakery in upper Manhattan.
