Lendlease Retirement Living leads global real estate sustainability ranking

GRESB, the global Real Estate Assessment, is the environmental, social and governance (ESG) benchmark for real estate assets.
The 2019 rankings are based on analysis of environment, social and governance data from over 1,000 property companies, real estate investment trusts (REITs), funds, and developers.
This result reflects Lendlease’s focus on responsible property investment, management and governance, environmental performance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.

The GRESB ranking recognised the following efficiencies Lendlease’s Australian Retirement Living villages achieved:
- In 2018, Lendlease villages reduced energy consumption by 5.1 percent compared to 2017. This is equivalent to powering 252 average Australian homes .
- Reduced Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 4.9 percent in 2018 compared to 2017.
- Reduced water consumption by 4.2 percent in 2018 compared to 2017 – the equivalent of filling 19 Olympic size swimming pools .
- The introduction of water loggers has given village management access to real-time data and insights into water consumption. This enabled villages to identify leaks and change practices that allowed villages to save approximately 28,000 kL and $82,000 in 2018.
