Harpley Town Centre taking shape

Lendlease has appointed Eildon Funds Management (a wholly owned subsidiary of ASX Listed CVC Limited) as development partner to deliver the much-anticipated Town Centre for the 435 hectare Harpley community. The signing has coincided with the commencement of early and subdivision works.

Harpley’s Town Centre will be surrounded by the State Government primary school to the west, the waterway to the east, Ison Road to the south and a regional park to the north. Spanning a number of precincts, it will comprise four sites, to be developed in three stages.

The first stage is planned to see the arrival of services including a service station and is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

Subsequent stages are designed to comprise a range of amenities which are planned to include a major supermarket and specialty shops arriving in early 2023, followed by waterside cafes, dining precinct, primary school and a community activity centre.

As part of the Black Forest Road South Precinct Structure Plan, the Harpley Town Centre is expected to deliver 8,000sqm of retail and 2,000sqm of non-retail commercial space, creating more than 380 job opportunities.

In addition, dedicated areas are proposed to include a health and wellbeing precinct, employment hub and a myriad of speciality services. Situated right in the heart of the Harpley community, the Town Centre will be within walking distance for residents.

Located 35km south west of Melbourne’s CBD on the outskirts of Werribee, Harpley is set to offer its community a unique series of more than 60 hectares of interconnected waterways and lakes, including 30 hectares of open water perfect for water activities (subject to planning).

The community will also offer a total of 100 hectares of open space, including nine hectares of village parks and gardens, 15 hectares of sporting fields, as well as playgrounds, barbeque areas and 26kms of hike and bike trails.

Upon completion, Harpley is expected to be home to around 12,000 residents.
