Lendlease kicks off world’s biggest meeting of minds on autonomous buildings
- 9 Sep 2020
The summit, which has attracted speakers and attendees including Distinguished Professor Genevieve Bell (3A Institute), Elizabeth Pinkham (Salesforce), Marcus East (Google Cloud), Monsi Roman (NASA) and Dawn Lim (Economic Development Board Singapore), will focus on everything from the creation of place powered by data, to sustainable autonomous cities, and the evolution of automation.
Another of the summit’s key topics will be about how the abundance of reliable and precise data collected by autonomous buildings is being used to continuously improve products and design decisions for the benefit of people.
The summit is the next step in Lendlease’s investment in its digital delivery capability. Earlier this year Lendlease launched Podium, a comprehensive digital property lifecycle platform that captures and crunches the enormous amount on data available across the property and construction sector to deliver smarter design, investment and risk management outcomes.
Quotes attributable to Bill Ruh, CEO Digital, Lendlease
“The Autonomous Building Summit is an exciting opportunity to bring together the world’s brightest minds in all things technology to talk about we can not only create better, more intelligent buildings, but do it in a way that improves the end user experience and sustainability outcomes.
“property and construction industries now have the opportunity, and responsibility, to embrace digital technologies to transform every aspect of the property lifecycle.
“Our vision is for the buildings we deliver to really push the status quo and be truly autonomous. This means revamping the entire building lifecycle – optimising design, streamlining pre-fabrication, assembly and construction, and minimising operational, energy and maintenance costs.
“We believe places of the future won’t be judged by how technologically advanced they are but by how well they learn, adapt and respond to the needs of people and the natural environment.”
