Lendlease scores three wins at the Workplace Safety and Health Awards 2020
- 8 Nov 2020
Lendlease is pleased to announce that it has won three awards at the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards 2020, which held a virtual ceremony today. The WSH Awards are presented by the WSH Council (WSHC) and are supported by the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore.
Lendlease Retail and Lendlease Singapore each won the silver award in the WSH Performance Awards category, which recognises organisations that have performed well in safety and health through the implementation of sound safety and health management systems. This is the sixth consecutive year that Lendlease’s businesses have been recognised by WSHC.
PLQ Mall, located at Lendlease’s landmark urban integrated development, Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ), clinched the Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP). The SHARP Award recognises projects with good safety and health performance, as well as workplace safety and health management systems.
Ng Hsueh Ling, Managing Director, Singapore & Chief Investment Officer, Asia, Lendlease commented: “We are honoured to receive these awards in recognition of the safe and healthy work environment at our project sites and across our shopping malls. We believe that everyone has the right to go home safely to their families, friends and loved ones every day and these awards are testament to our commitment to raising the bar on the safety and wellbeing of our people.”
“At the malls that we manage, the ongoing pandemic has fundamentally transformed the retail experience. In line with this, we have prioritised the health and safety of all our employees, tenants and shoppers, so that everyone can shop, dine and carry out their activities without worry,” she added.
A hassle-free and enjoyable shopping experience
To minimise the risk of the spread of the virus, numerous initiatives have been implemented at Lendlease-managed malls. In addition to mandated requirements and an enhanced cleaning regime, antimicrobial coatings have been applied on high-touch areas such as lift buttons for a safer environment. Air ionisers will also soon be installed at the malls, providing shoppers with continuously sterilised and disinfected air.
All Lendlease malls are in the Safety Security Watch Group (SSWG) in collaboration with the respective precinct Singapore Police Force division, and carry out half-yearly 100% tenancy inspections for fire safety. This includes checks on fire extinguishers, emergency lights, exit signs, escape routes, hose reels and sprinklers.
In July 2020, csuites, Lendlease’s flexible workplace for corporates received the Building and Construction Authority and Health Promotion Board’s (BCA-HPB) Green Mark for Healthier Workplaces Platinum certification.
