New Buraga Gul Skilling & Employment Hub opens to help Liverpool locals gain employment

Western Sydney’s new Buraga Gul Skilling & Employment Hub is open for business, set within the $790 million redeveloped Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP).
Lendlease Building, in partnership with Health Infrastructure and South Western Sydney Local Health District, will deliver a significant upgrade of patient care to the LHAP, with works already underway.
In addition to the redevelopment, Lendlease, Health Infrastructure and South Western Sydney Local Health District have collaborated to deliver the Buraga Gul Skilling & Employment Hub, in partnership with key skilling and employment providers TAFE NSW and Aboriginal Employment Strategy.
Buraga Gul, meaning ‘rise above’ in Darug language, embodies the purpose of the hub, which will offer a range of practical skilling and nationally-recognised training programs to enhance employment prospects for local residents and meet the specific skills needs of the local workforce.
In further collaboration with Liverpool City Council and Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Buraga Gul Skilling & Employment Hub will provide access to programs including:

- Try a trade programs and infrastructure career promotion.
- ‘Rise Above’ – a four-week program with a focus on warehousing, cleaning, landscaping, business administration and hospitality that ends with an employer connection day.
- Pre-employment courses in health connected to the Liverpool Hospital traineeship program with job guarantee outcomes.
