Lendlease announces Austin Mitchell as new Head of Equity Capital Markets, Europe

Austin joins Lendlease with a 22-year track record of delivering organic and inorganic strategic growth through transactions and developing, raising, and executing investment strategies and products for institutional investors. At Lendlease, Austin will be responsible for building, developing, and maintaining institutional investor relationships and developing products and strategies to grow Lendlease’s European business. This will build on Austin’s extensive global experience of institutional investment management, operating platforms, and institutional relationships.

Having successfully led large cross-functional teams throughout his career, Austin has executed complex transactions and launched new strategies across the US, Europe, and APAC, including the landmark TIAA-Henderson acquisition in 2014 (now Nuveen Real Estate). His experience makes Austin an ideal candidate to work closely with Lendlease’s European and Global New Business and Capital Markets teams, Investment Management and Development businesses, as Lendlease continues to invest in the capabilities assist in the development of executable third-party capital solutions.

Following his completion of a MPhil Land Economy at the University of Cambridge, and as a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Austin held various Global Leadership positions for Nuveen Real Estate across a 17-year career at the firm before leaving at the end of 2022. Austin started his career at King Sturge (now JLL) and Schroders and most recently served as a Senior Advisor to Savills.
