  • 28 Jan 2025

Sydney, 28 January 2024: Lendlease has signed NBN Co, Australia’s national wholesale open-access data network provider, as a tenant for its Victoria Cross Tower in North Sydney.

NBN Co will occupy six floors or circa 9,000 square metres across levels 6 to 11 when it relocates in mid-2026. NBN Co’s people will have access to a highly-connected premium grade workspace, with seamless integration into the new Victoria Cross metro station.

NBN Co will join Ventia, one of the largest essential infrastructure services providers in Australia and New Zealand, who signed last year for two floors, or 3,500 square metres of space.

Designed as a thriving round-the-clock precinct with wellness options on its doorstep, Victoria Cross will also be anchored by health and wellness operator One Playground. Occupying 1,800 square metres across four floors in the precinct’s new podium building. This impressive space will host more than 200 fitness and wellness classes weekly, featuring five studios and a dedicated Recovery area complete with infra-red saunas. It is expected to open mid-2025, with presales to launch early February 2025.

The Victoria Cross integrated station precinct, being delivered by Lendlease, features generous public space and a vibrant ground plane with 21 new retail and hospitality brands, 14 of which are now open in the concourse and new pedestrian laneway. These include popular operators such as Marrickville Pork Roll, Mary's and McDonald’s. The remaining retailers will open in early-2026, anchored by Miller House, a multi-level food and beverage destination.

On completion later this year, the 42-storey commercial building will accommodate up to 7,000 workers across 58,000 square metres and represents a once-in-a-generation transformation of an entire CBD block in the heart of North Sydney.

The tower is positioned to be one of North Sydney’s most well-connected and sustainable workplaces since the opening of Sydney Metro’s City and Southwest line in 2024, which has since seen more than 290,000 trips per day. The building will also be net zero carbon and all-electric, powered by 100 per cent renewables and is targeting a Platinum WELL and 6-Star Green Star rating.

Victoria Cross Tower is 25 per cent owned by Lendlease's flagship Australian office fund, APPF Commercial. The fund invests in sustainable, premium precincts that are aligned with the global shift to vibrant and collaborative workplaces.

“The strength and reliability of the nbn network has allowed us to maintain hybrid work arrangements, providing employees with flexibility and in turn delivering cost-savings to the business over the next eight years through optimised floor space.

“We’ve engaged in a competitive tendering process and have chosen to occupy the low-rise levels of Victoria Cross Tower to secure an attractive agreement.

“Victoria Cross Tower is conveniently located above the new North Sydney Metro Station, encouraging public transport use, and sits at the confluence of major transport corridors. It is three minutes to Barangaroo, six minutes to Chatswood and nine minutes to Central, with trains running every four minutes.
