Wetland Management Plan

The new Sunshine Coast University Hospital site is located within 100m of wetlands of high ecological value. For the project to meet its commitment to achieve a Green Star rating, the Sunshine Coast University Hospital team has worked with the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) to develop a series of measures to ensure these wetlands are protected during the construction and operation on the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The details of the measures proposed can be seen in full in the Wetland Management Plan

The Sunshine Coast University Hospital Project is near completion and most contractors have mobilised their workforce. As the site has reached peak workforce activity, job opportunities with on-site contractors have reduced to a point where it is no longer sustainable for The Work Shop to continue offering their service.

Opportunities for Sunshine Coast jobseekers are positive with many large infrastructure projects occurring now and in coming years such as the Oceanside Health Precinct (including residential and commercial development), Sunshine Coast Airport upgrade, the light rail project and the new city centre in Maroochydore.
