Our strong internal governance structure supports our drive for an inclusive workplace. We are currently establishing an inclusion network to replace the existing Employee Resource Group structure. We have agreed regional priorities and our regional inclusion network will supplement the work of our Global Council.

Our inclusion network will advocate and advise on diversity issues across our company, and our dedicated Diversity & Inclusion team drives policy development and strategy, ensuring that we manage diversity and inclusion on a daily basis.

Our inclusion network consists of:

  • Gender Equity
  • LGBT
  • All abilities

National Equality Standard

We have been awarded the National Equality Standard (NES) in 2017. The NES is a ground-breaking initiative developed for business, by business, which sets clear equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) criteria against which companies will be assessed. It is supported by the Home Office and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) was involved in its development and launch.

Vercida is diversity and inclusion employer brand platform. We were recognised in their Top 10 Gender Diversity Employers in 2017. https://www.vercida.com/uk/employers/lendlease

The CITB Be Fair Framework is an industry specific standard which provides a structure for employers to address fairness, inclusion and respect within their organisation.

This is the very first industry specific equality framework, designed in consultation with the construction and built environment sector, which encourages businesses to adopt practices which will enable them to maximise the rewards of our rich and diverse economy. It serves as guidance for those in the sector making a commitment to change.

The Framework is supported by the Construction Industry Leadership Forum for Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (with representation from key industry stakeholders such as UKCG, Construction Alliance, CIC, ICE and CIOB). This is the main driving force within CITB’s FIR strategy for delivering cultural change within the built environment and construction sector.

Minding the Gap

When it comes to gender equity we are committed to creating a level playing field so everyone has an equal chance of success. This applies to all our processes and policies, ensuring opportunities are fair and equitable for all.
