Lendlease’s BeOnsite to feature on ‘Make Me Prime Minister’

BeOnsite helps people start a career in the construction industry, and with it, a new chapter in their life. Over 1,000 people have built life-long skills, careers, support systems and futures for themselves thanks to support from the BeOnsite team.   

Make Me Prime Minister, which airs on Tuesdays on Channel 4, is a brand new Channel 4 series that is set to lift the lid on what it really takes to be Prime Minister. 12 Brits, with views from across the political spectrum, are put through their paces on the campaign trail in a raft of prime ministerial tasks set and adjudicated by political heavyweights Alastair Campbell and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi. The candidates will need to persuade and convince former politicians, experienced journalists and most importantly the public, that they have the charisma, vision, and political acumen to lead. Across the series, the candidates will be whittled down until just one secures victory to be crowned Channel 4’s Alternative Prime Minister. 

In the fifth episode, which will air on Channel 4 on Tuesday 25th October at 10.30pm, candidates will be asked to focus on policies to tackle crime. We then see the candidates visit a number of initiatives which aim to combat reoffending, including a construction project in South London where BeOnsite employees are working.  

International property and investment group, Lendlease, launched BeOnsite in 2009 and the not-for-profit organisation is dedicated to helping people from vulnerable groups find work in the built environment sector. Their offer of specialist on-the-job training and direct employment coupled with bespoke pastoral care has led to long-term careers for those who need a little more support when first starting out. This includes people who are long-term unemployed, homeless, ex-offenders, serving prisoners, from disadvantaged communities or people with disabilities.   

BeOnsite won a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of promoting opportunity through social mobility earlier in 2022.
