About Lendlease Development

We are experts in creating vibrant mixed use places with community and connectivity at their heart and where people want to work, live and play. Combining global know how with our proven delivery model we partner with cities, governments and communities to take on complex sites and develop sustainable, innovative and inclusive places that support long term community and investment outcomes.

Our global sustainability credentials and renowned placemaking skills have seen us involved in successfully creating some of the largest and most complex urban and regeneration development projects in the world.

Place creators

For more than 70 years we have been designing, building, and curating sustainable places where people and communities can thrive. From securing land, creating masterplans and consulting with governments, local authorities, and communities, through to project management, sales and leasing, we manage the entire development process.

As experts in sustainable urban regeneration and place-making, our first major projects in Europe started in 2010 with Elephant Park and Stratford Cross. A critical factor in our selection for these was our commitment to delivering the highest levels of sustainability and social value to the communities we were operating within.

With a strong presence in both London and Milan we now have a total European development pipeline of more than $50 billion across nine major urbanisation projects.

"Companies must start justifying their worth to society, with greater emphasis placed on environmental and social impact rather than straight economics”

Dick Dusseldorp – Founder 1973

As a developer, we aim to create places that connect people with nature, are climate resilient and are low carbon by design. We set best in class sustainability development standards that are tracked throughout the life of the project and continually look to strengthen design performance by
applying new innovations and learnings into plans for future assets.

A 1.5% aligned company, we have set ambitious targets to be net carbon zero by 2025 for scope 1 & 2 emissions and absolute zero carbon by 2040 across scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions with no offsets.

We create green buildings that always strive for the top two tiers of any green building certification, such as BREEAM, LEED, WELL and NABERS. Though we don't have all the answers we are proud to say that we are committed to innovating and partnering to protect the communities that we create.

We are passionate about the communities we work in. We deliver employment programmes that support people facing major barriers in accessing and sustaining employment, providing local jobs for local people that lead to long term successful careers.

Our teams partner with local businesses ensuring that as much of our investment as possible is directed to local companies, stimulating broader growth.

Our award-winning, not-for-profit, company BeOnsite uniquely also helps people facing challenges to get onto the job ladder and build a career within the built environment.

We are committed to the health and safety of all those who work on our sites or in our offices. To look after our people, partners, supply chain, and all who interact with a Lendlease place, our Global Minimum Requirements Framework assures consistently high standards across all our projects. Combining these with our continuing investment into the latest technology, empowers our people, helps them make good decisions, controls risk, and creates injury free environments.

Our culture of care means we look out for ourselves and each other. Whilst it is essential that our people are physically safe, their mental wellbeing is equally important to us and we provide the tools that support their good health and wellbeing.

Our employees are proud of our approach and how we prioritise safety across everything we do.

Embracing diversity and fostering inclusion, we seek inclusive, diverse team cultures and aim to provide workplaces where people feel valued no matter what their background, culture, sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity or other life experiences.

Actively inclusive in our approach, we challenge ways of working across our projects. With our supply chain and the communities we work within we encourage and support equity and equality change to achieve fairer working practices for all. Supporting people who have difficulty getting onto the job ladder, our not-for-profit company BeOnsite has, through their social sustainability and inclusion model, created over 1,000 jobs for people who faced life challenges.

By encouraging difference and working together we know we achieve better outcomes for all.
