Discounted BAH rates extended at all IHG Army Hotels - Lendlease and IHG continue to put military families first

20 Jul 2021

Lendlease and IHG® Army Hotels, today announced that it will extend the offering of the BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) rate at all 40 on-base IHG Army Hotels locations throughout the US through the end of fiscal year 2022. IHG Army Hotels first started offering this special discounted rate in March 2020.

Gretchen Turpen, SVP, Head of Lodging, Lendlease, commented: "In support of the DoD's decision to freeze PCS last year, Lendlease supported the voluntarily offering of room rates significantly lower than per diem by IHG, to assist servicemembers maneuvering through PCS moves. To ensure we continue to meet the needs of all servicemembers, we have extended this offering providing servicemembers with an option for temporary lodging at BAH rates until they find permanent accommodation at their new duty station. This decision shows the PAL program's ability to flex with the needs of the DoD, and most importantly allows us to continue in our mission of providing safe and quality accommodations for servicemembers and families."

Even as progress is made in the fight against COVID-19, including availability and adoption of vaccinations, the pandemic’s impact on availability of housing remains a significant concern for families across the nation. The shortage of inventory combined with increased housing and rental costs in many of military communities has put more pressure on families.

Chuck Sourbeer, Head of Operations, IHG Army Hotels, commented: "We’re proud to be able to offer a home away from home for so many military travelers and their families and know that COVID-19 continues to interrupt so many lives and plans. Thousands of families have taken advantage of this special discounted rate over the last year and we know that extending the rate is the right thing to do to support those who serve us every day.”

The BAH rate is available upon request, under certain terms and conditions*, and not a default rate at check-in at IHG Army Hotels. A family (or anyone on PCS orders) having trouble securing housing should contact the housing office (or hotel front desk) for a form that provides hotel staff with the information they need to manually adjust the rate, so the going-forward rate equals their particular BAH.

Lendlease is the owner, developer, design-builder, and asset manager, and the exclusive developer for the Department of Defense's only lodging privatization program. IHG Hotel & Resorts is the hotel operator and manager of IHG Army Hotels.  To learn more, or book room under the extended BAH rate at IHG Army hotels, visit www.ihgarmyhotels.com.

*Terms & Conditions: The BAH rate will need to be determined by rank and number of dependents. Guests must request the rate with the General Manager or Operations Manager. The BAH rate cannot be retroactive or be applied to a past stay. Rooms are based on availability. All applicable state and local taxes apply and vary by locations.
