Project outcome
Designed by San Francisco's Handel Architects and Bjarke Ingels Group, the wedge-shaped project features a very complex, large-scale GFRC (glass-fiber reinforced concrete) and glazing system that will be panelized offsite, delivered and erected as integrated panels. The residential interiors are designed by Iwamoto Scott of San Francisco and hotel interiors are designed by Knibb and BAR Architects.
The project is envisioned to be the gateway to the Mid-Market resurgence. The site's location bridges the culturally rich and diverse Tenderloin neighborhood with the retail and shopping district of Market Street and Union Square.
Lendlease provided preconstruction services, including design management, estimating, budgeting, cost control, value engineering and schedule development.
