Candlewood Suites - JBLM

The hotel includes spacious studios and one-bedroom suites, fully equipped kitchens in guest rooms, a 24-hour Candlewood Cupboard for food and beverages, business and fitness centers, a BBQ gazebo, guest laundry facilities, complimentary hot breakfast served daily, and courtesy on-post shuttle services. The project includes eight ADA guestrooms and eleven hearing impaired guestrooms.

The more than 74,000-square foot structure incorporates CLT for the hotels floors, roof, exterior walls, shaft walls and select interior walls. CLT installation began in late October of 2018 and was completed in February 2019. The frequent rainy winter conditions of the Pacific Northwest posed challenges for the structural CLT installation. This project also utilized prefabricated bathroom pods which reduced need for onsite manpower and accelerated the overall project schedule. This was the first CLT project for Lendlease to build in a high seismic zone thus requiring additional engineering collaboration to utilize CLT in seismic areas.

Project substantial completion was reached in October 2019.
