Cavalry Family Housing
Cavalry Family Housing (CFH), a Lendlease military community, was awarded the first RCI project by the Department of the Army in 2001. Made up of 11 neighborhoods, CFH celebrates more than 20 years of providing safe and healthy communities for our service members and families. With a focus on providing desirable homes and amenities residents both desire and deserve, residents will benefit from the latest accelerated investment plan between the U.S. Army and Lendlease, bringing more than $420M in additional community improvements.

Project outcome
A Lendlease community is about more than houses we provide. It’s about providing a community living experience that improves the quality of life for our service members and families. At CFH, we provide several resident-focused programs and events to help us do just that.
Community services and amenities include:
- Seasonal front and side lawn care
- Lawn and garden center
- Trash and recycling pick-up
- 3 community centers w/ splash parks or swimming pool
- 63 community playgrounds
- 2 boundless and accessible playgrounds
- On-site maintenance
- Free fitness centers
- Basketball courts
Community giving and events:
- National Night Out - Celebrates the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while we work together to keep communities safe.
- Lemonade Day - Since 2012, CFH has participated in Lemonade Day at Fort Cavazos, an educational program to teach children how to build and own a business and develop strong life skills.
- Military Homefront - Through the Lendlease (US) Community Fund, over $10K is distributed annually to community and military programs across Fort Cavazos.
- Volunteer Opportunities - We provide multiple opportunities for FHFH staff and residents at local food banks and collecting and donating hundreds of toys to Fort Cavazos’ “Santa’s Workshop”.
- Resident Experiences - Virtual resident events still hold tremendous value in the resident experience, and in-person events have made a strong comeback. These experiences included the multi-award winning in-person National Night Out, the in-person Home for the Holiday events, and the Community Parades with Santa.
