The $820M program included the development, design, and construction of 1,208 new homes, two community centers, a recreation complex, and numerous community amenities, as well as the restoration and rehabilitation of more than 1,000 historic and non-historic homes.
The initial development was awarded by the Air Force in two phases. Phase 1 was awarded in 2005 and completed in 2010. Phase 2 was awarded in 2007 and completed in September 2013.
With a 50-year agreement with the Air Force to manage Hickam Communities, the project company offers long-term employment opportunities for Hawaii residents and long-term business opportunities for subcontractors and vendors supporting the operation.
