Project outcome

The building, originally constructed in 1982, was occupied on the first and part of the fourth floor during the renovation.

The second, third and part of the fourth floors were completely gutted to create a two, 50-bed long term care units (25,350 square feet each); and a 16-bed hospice in-patient unit (16,650 square feet) with its own separate ground floor entrance.

In addition the project includes: complete removal and replacement of the building exterior brick facade with a metal panel window system; replacement of existing plumbing risers; heating and ventilation improvements including new hot water risers and fan coil units; refurbishment of four existing elevators; and site improvements in connection with the new hospice entrance. The project also includes renovations to the 93,000 square foot first floor, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy.
