Lendlease was selected by repeat client, JDL Development LLC, to provide construction management services for No. 9 Walton, a new condominium building located on the corner of State and Walton in Chicagos historic Gold Coast.

Project outcome

Boasting a precast limestone, granite and glass exterior, the 465,000 square foot, 38-story tower houses 66 ultra-luxurious residences, each with custom tailored floor plans, and two hospitality suites. At 2,000 square feet, the smallest residence features two-bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, with the remaining units scaling up to six bedrooms and bathrooms, resulting in a single-family layout within a condominium building. The average unit is over 4,000 square feet.

All units offer extensive millwork finishes; custom-built kitchens from OBrien Harris or Bulthaup with Sub Zero, Wolf and LaCornue appliances; Kallista nickel plated plumbing fixtures; Victoria + Albert tubs; heated master bathroom floor; Walnut, French Oak or Quarter Sawn Oak hardwood flooring stained to meet individual residents taste; fireplace with custom-carved marble mantel; custom master bedroom closets; built-in safe; and multi-piece custom crown mouldings and oversized baseboards.

Additionally, each residence offers dramatic 10-12 foot ceilings, nine-foot-tall windows, and private terraces averaging 360 square feet and running up to 3,500 square feet.

No. 9 Walton offers hotel-like amenities including a swimming pool, hot tub, yoga room, golf simulator, dining/party room, wine cellar, covered dog run and three levels of below-grade parking.
