Project outcome

The new multi-level highrise replaced an existing grouping of buildings built over the past 50 years on the corner of Foster and Marine Drive, directly across from Lake Michigan. The existing residents were relocated while the buildings are demolished and replaced with the new trio of towers.

The building is divided between the 12-story healthcare component and the 32-story independent living component, with units starting on the sixth floor in both towers. The lower five floors include a 294 space parking garage, lobby, living and the adjunct townhome element. The sixth floor offers the residents a common and function space.

The post-tensioned concrete structure has a mixture of punch openings, stone work (levels one through five) and painted concrete with accents above level six. The mechanical system is a two pipe system.
