The Getty, 239 Tenth Avenue
Lendlease managed the construction of 239 Tenth Avenue, a new six-unit, 12-story mixed-use building for The Victor Group.
Project outcome
The base of the building houses three stories of art gallery space in the cellar, ground and 2nd floors as well as a private art foundation on the 3rd and 4th floors. The building includes five full-floor apartments and a duplex penthouse with private rooftop pool and outdoor kitchen.
As the location of a former gasoline station, the existing structure had to be demolished. In addition, the gas tanks were removed and contaminated soil was remediated at a separate facility.
The structure is reinforced concrete and contains two cellar levels. The foundation consists of mat footings and caissons. The building is clad with metal panels and curtain wall. Interior finishes include finish in place wood floors; level five wall finish; custom cabinets and vanities; stone slabs in bathrooms; wooden door casing and wall panels; plaster walls; and gas burning fireplaces. Building amenities are highlighted by a swimming pool.
